The implementation of TANGO proceed through a structured work plan consisting of three Work Packages (WPs), articulated in a set of interconnected blocks of activities, altogether conceived to match the project’s goals. While the first WP is dedicated to management duties, the other two work packages intend to tackle technical activities.

WP1

In particular, Work Package 1 has been conceived to assist the consortium in the management of all activities. Periodic meetings, in presence or remotely, will facilitate a smooth monitoring of the project’s progresses, updating each other in respect of performed activities, sharing successes or discussing difficulties to identify solutions or mitigation actions. This will ensure on-time performances reporting to the Funding Agency and to the consortium members own Institutions.

Enhancement of cooperation and dialogue between NATO countries and partner countries is a key priority of this consortium. To this end a special sub-task has been dedicated to manage project partners mutual secondments and placements, in this way maximizing dialogue opportunities and facilitating reciprocal cultural exchanges and know-how transfer to generate innovation.

At the same time, this consortium recognizes the utmost importance of activities to achieve public visibility, in respect of both the technical and scientific communities and the general public. To this end, dissemination activities within schools, through already ongoing initiatives, and within the society will be further undertaken from TANGO consortium members.

The scientific community will be approached through conferences, where oral communications and posters will be presented, and scientific publications of results and achievements will be released, while the intellectual property will be safeguarded issuing relevant patents.

Wp2

Main objectives of Work Package 2 are the following:

  • synthesis, characterization and in batch performances evaluation of identified homogeneous catalysts for benchmarking purposes
  • design, synthesis, characterization, in batch performances and recyclability evaluation of the targeted magnetic nanocatalysts

Activities foreseen in all tasks and subtasks will be developed with strong interconnections with the other WPs. WP1 will assist WP2 regarding the activities management, the procurement and goods purchasing, all administration and bureaucratic duties. On the other hand, WP2 will assist WP3 by delivering all homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysts for aerosol performances evaluations and for the fully technology integrated aerosol reactor optimization and demonstration.

WP3

Main objectives of Work Package 3 are the following:

  • optimization of magnetic nanocatalysts capture performances to ensure their recovery
  • performances evaluation of homogeneous catalysts in aerosol
  • performances evaluation magnetic nanocatalysts in aerosol
  • aerosol reactor design and set-up
  • optimization of the operative conditions and recyclability studies on the designed aerosol reactor
  • final technology integration on the designed aerosol reactor and demonstration

The activities that will be performed in all tasks and subtasks of this work package will be strongly interconnected with the other WPs. In analogy with WP2, WP1 will assist this work package in management, procurement, administration and bureaucratic affairs, and the project’s dissemination and outreach duties. On the other hand, WP3 will assist WP2 in respect of all technology merging affairs. In particular: magnetic nanoparticles interaction with static magnetic fields, nanocatalysts magnetic capture for recyclability purposes both in batch and continuous flow mode and, finally, magnetic nanocatalysts performances in aerosols.
